This unique design project combines simplified and dignified sentiments to renovate the narrow and long circulation and layout of the old house. The result is a space that not only maximizes functionality but also creates a harmonious and elegant atmosphere.
The construction materials used in this project prioritize sustainability and environmental protection. Recycled materials are utilized to reduce waste and emphasize the concept of sustainable utilization of earth resources. This approach ensures that the manufacturing and construction processes are eco-friendly, reducing energy consumption and minimizing indoor and outdoor pollution. The result is a comfortable and environmentally friendly residence.
The State of the Art project covers an area of 165.3 square meters and is located in Taipei, Taiwan. It was completed in December 2019.
To further enhance the eco-friendly nature of the design, Li has incorporated recyclable and eco-friendly materials throughout the space. The use of eco-friendly wooden flooring made from recyclable sawdust reduces the need for cutting down trees, making it a truly sustainable choice.
The design also incorporates FENIX germ-free panels, which provide safe environmental protection and quality assurance. These panels have a class I flame resistance rating, ensuring the safety of the space. Additionally, stringent inspections and selections were made for the furniture and construction materials to create an ideal residence for the proprietor.
Overcoming the challenges posed by the non-horizontal area and uneven wall surfaces, Li successfully integrated the horizontal and vertical circulations and utility line arrangements. The final construction, which includes waterproofing engineering, showcases the designer's expertise and attention to detail.
The State of the Art project has been recognized for its excellence and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award honors designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, technical skills, and contributions to improving quality of life.
